Ministries and Other Good Works
Saint Teresa of Avila says, “the purpose of prayer, dear daughters, is good works.” So Saint Teresa’s Parish need to abound in good works. Here are opportunities for you to be involved:

Society of Saint Vincent DePaul 1) prepares and distributes food boxes weekly; 2) prepares 250 sandwiches on last Sunday of each month for the SVdP Center; 3) prepares and distributes a family dinner box just before Thanksgiving; 4) coordinates an annual canned food drive here in the parish and surrounding schools.

Gun Safety Committee 1) promotes gun safety legislation; 2) informs the parish of gun violence trends nationally; 3) participates in the annual Golden Gate Bridge Gun Safety March; 4) organizes ‘get out the vote’ post card drives.

Green Team 1) maintains the parish’s EPA Energy Star certification; 2) informs the parish about climate change and environmental issues; 3) provides weekly tips on how to be more energy and climate conscious; 4) organizes the parish’s Laudato Si action plan; 5) maintains the parish’s Prayer Garden.

STA’s Choir offers a multi-generational, multi-lingual, and multi-cultural range of music to accompany Sunday Mass. The music is high-energy and fully involves the congregation. Not only is the music beautiful, but a lot of fun.

Faith Formation (Religious Ed) is for childrent age 7+ and teens; and adults. There are components ranging from Sacamental Prep (e.g., 1st Holy Communion or Confirmation) to OCIA (i.e., adults becoming Catholic). And at all levels there is a strong Teresian spiritual component.

Lay Carmelites (T.O.Carms.) live the Carmelite mission in their daily lives with study of the Carmelite literature, the recitation of the Liturgy of the Hours, participation in national TOCarm assemblies, and an annual Carmelite-themed retreat.
